At least six persons, among them three children, were killed after their necks were slit by kite strings and 176 were injured due to cuts and falls while flying kites during Uttarayan festival in Gujarat, police said on Monday.

A three-year-old girl and a 35-year-old man died in two separate incidents in different cities of Gujarat on Saturday amid Uttarayan celebrations after their throats were slit by the kite string, police officials said.
