The car ended up at a 45 degree angle on a utility pole. The road was closed for a short time to get the car back on the ground. 3 3 3 developing in burke county. A beloved landmark. Destroyed by fire. Now the atf is involved in the investigation to find out why. The Old Hildebran School house was built nearly 100 years ago. But it only took hours for flames to destroy it. Working all morning long to make sure the roadways are starting to get clear. You can see the interstate behind me and the primary roads are doing well. The preparations, they started overnight. The real reason at first was due to downed trees because of high wind. Then came the snow. It is still flying around me. Trubs were laying down brian and salt to melt the light dusting. The bigger issue was the temperatures. Once they dropped below the freezing point, that turned snow into ice which created slick and slippery conditions. While no road closures have been enforced all morning long, people traveling through the precaution. Only on North Carolina side, it was a little ice on ththe you could see the snow was staying on there. The roads were very clear. Even at lunchtime, hovering around the freezing point. Trucks have driven by us on the interstate. They have been out here. We talked to officials earlier, they said theyll continue to have 12 hour shifts until this event comes to an

This route because thats one of the main routes here in marshal. I want to show you how much the snow is agent up in parking lots here though. I have gotten my tape measure out, just 2, right here, in this parking lot. And as you can see, its piling up on surfaces. These cars that have been sitting here, covered with snow. But, the good news is, this kind of snow is a very powdery snowfall, so you can easily wipe it away from your cars. But, underneath that, you see that layer of ice there . Thats also what you are going to see on those roads. So, have the windshield scraper ready to go this morning as you make your way out to your cars. This is a look at the surfaces and other things here in parking lots but many secondary roads, we have encountered from mars hill over to marshal this morning, are snow cover. So, highway 25 70, highway 213, we are seeing dot crews out treating those roads because, again, those are some of the main routes here. But a lot of the secondary roads, still c
