  City Health Office acting head Dr. Ashley Lopez said in his program over Davao City Disaster Radio (DCDR 87.5) Wednesday, May 5that the active cases were detected from among the 2,300 drivers who have so far been tested through the reverse transcription-polymerase chain reaction (RT-PCR).   The tests were done from April 26 to May 3 as part of the intensified community surveillance of the local government and that about 90% of them are asymptomatic.   “This is one of the factors that could potentially spread the infection because the majority of us don’t own private vehicles, so the majority of the workers will have to rely on public transport,” he said.

Swab Drive-Thru for drivers in Davao City set April 26 to May 8 – Manila Bulletin

Published April 25, 2021, 4:53 PM DAVAO CITY – The city government Davao has scheduled a 12-day “Swab Drive-Thru” program for drivers of public transport vehicles and delivery services from April 26 to May 8 at the Davao Crocodile Park here. Mayor Sara Duterte here issued Executive Order (EO) No. 22 Saturday saying that the Swab Drive-Thru will be conducted from 8:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. for drivers as public ground transport and delivery services pose a significant risk to COVID-19 transmission. Those who can avail of the free reverse transcription-polymerase chain reaction (RT-PCR) test include taxi drivers, van drivers, jeepney drivers, “habal-habal” or motorcycle drivers, tricycle drivers, bus drivers, other drivers of public ground transport vehicles, and motorcycle drivers of food and online item delivery services.
