Harris was joined by Secretary of Commerce Gina Raimondo, Rhode Island’s former governor, along with five women who run businesses across the state, for a roundtable discussion held at the Providence Innovation Center.
The vice president said the nation has seen “devastation across the board” amid the coronavirus pandemic, with women among those who suffered the most.
“We saw almost 2 million women leave the workforce during the course of the pandemic, highlighting a number of issues,” Harris said.
