The Mattagami Region Conservation Authority (MRCA) has transferred ownership of Flintstone Park to the City of Timmins, while maintaining an easement along Town Creek.
The transaction, at no cost to the city, thanks to a donation from Kirkland Lake Gold, was one of a number of land transfers between the two organizations finalized during Tuesday’s virtual council meeting.

Ward 5 Coun. Cory Robin, who lives near the park, thanked the volunteers who made the Facebook group, started an online petition and went door-to-door getting people to sign a petition to save the park.
