It is now reasonably established that the main Cause of the Nigeria’s Civil War is the failure of the ethnic Nationalities comprised in Nigeria at their Meeting held in Aburi, 4-8 January 1967 to agree on a True and Sustainable Federation for Nigeria. A True Federation is a Union of two or more ethnic Nationalities or Nations to form one Nation State. This is achieved through mutually Agreed Terms of Union.
For instance, Great Britain, a Union of England, Scotland and Wales is a True Federation, just as Canada and European Union, are True Federations of (1) English Speaking Americans and French Speaking Americans following American War of Independence from Europe and (2) European Union which is a Federation of European Nations following the end of the second World War which was the consequence of their individual effort to control their respectiv

There are many reasons why the nation Nigeria must take the present call for restructuring seriously. It is in the long -term interests of all the ethnic Nationalities in Nigeria to restructure Nigeria into a True and sustainable Federation. It is however clear that there is at present no love lost politically between Hausa – Fulani, Yoruba, Igbo, Ijaw, Tiv, Ibibio and what have you ethnic Nationalities comprising Nigeria. What all ethnic Nationalities are now engaged in, is primarily what they can get from Nigeria. No ethnic Nationality now really wants Nigeria to disintegrate into its Component Parts. Every ethnic Nationality both large and small Populationsis now fighting for its own political and economic interests and what it can get in Nigeria as a Nation State.
