The Lewes Police Department arrested a man after police said he cut a woman multiple times with a small knife and took off with their 10-month-old baby Saturday evening.
Officers responded to the 800 block of Kings Highway for a reported domestic-related burglary and stabbing around 6 p.m.
When police arrived, they found a 20-year-old woman who was cut multiple times by a man later identified as 24-year-old Jamal Mumford. Lewes Fire Department and emergency medical responders treated the victim and took her to Beebe Hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
Police said the suspect had come to the victim s apartment complex and was arguing with her in the parking lot. Mumford and the victim have a 10-month-old baby.
