The human rights atrocities, the Chinese Government is perpetuating are now wellknown. More than a million uighurs and muslims, ethnic north have been thrown into detention camps where they face torture, brainwashing, sexual abuse, and even forced sterilization. These atrocities are horrific, and the congress has acted to hold perpetrators of these crimes accountable by passing the uighur human rights policy act. We must not stop there. The legislation we are considering today focuses on a specific form of abuse. Forced labor, an abuse of human rights, which also has grave implications for supply chains and consumers worldwide
When emilys list first started there were only two women in the u. S. Senate. Now there are 26 of us. You allowed so many more women to hold elected office and that made our nation better. And Alameda County sheriffs deputy who had been in intensive care for more than 3 weeks died last night from the coronavirus Maureen Kelly reports that deputy oscar roadshow worked at the santa rita jail which is dealing with an outbreak of positive cases. The 25 year veteran of the Alameda County Sheriffs Office work both in the court system as well as here at the santa rita jail there are currently a 104 positive coronavirus cases among inmates here and many of the Sheriffs Office staff who have tested positive. Both deputies and non sworn personnel are connected with this facility. Deputy oscar ochoa was one of 65 people working with this Law Enforcement agency to be infected since march. While most of the cases among the inmate population and the staff have been asymptomatic are very mild both roach and his wife maureen were hospitalized.
