Here is how the major averages ended with dow up 129 points making the biggest gain since may 21st and came within two points of the 17,000 mark around midday before giving up early gains. It reported better than expected revenues and earnings, net profit up nearly 3 billion on Strong Demand for personal computers and the chips inside them. Excludeing certain items, intel pulled down 55 cents a share, thats three cents better than analysts estimates. Revenue nearly 14 billion topped the forecast.
