Tripura DM apologises over raids during marriage ceremony
West Tripura District Magistrate and Collector Shailesh Kumar Yadav, who led the raids in the two marriage halls in Agartala, on Tuesday apologised for disrupting the marriage ceremony. If anyone got hurt due to my action, I am apologising for that. I have done this for the larger interest of society and the people. I have taken the strict action to give a message to the people to maintain the government SOP, Yadav told local television on Tuesday night.

Agartala, April 27 : As many as 31 people, including 19 women, were detained from a marriage party in Tripura for violating the night curfew and other Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) enforced to curb the Covid spread, officials said on Tuesday.
However, in another raid at a marriage party in the city, no detentions were made.
Tripura Chief Secretary Manoj Kumar, in an order, imposed a corona night curfew in Agartala Municipal Corporation area from 10 p.m. to 5 a.m. from Thursday onwards.

GUWAHATI: Popular Tripura MLA Sushanta Chowdhury announced in an interaction with the media that he is resigning as invitee member of the BJP state committee.
According to reports, Sushanta said that he will be sending his formal letter of resignation as invitee member from the BJP s state committee to the state president Dr Manik Saha today.
The MLA further alleged saying, Many of us from congress and CPI(M) who have to build the party brick by brick to bring change to the communist misrule in Tripura in 2018 assembly poll are ignored now to give mileage to the communist leaders who joined BJP after the poll.
