Cronin, Kilcoyne and Kushmerek, newcomers in state Legislature, lay out visions

Cronin, 30, of Lunenburg takes over as senator from the Worcester and Middlesex District.
In November, Cronin defeated Republican incumbent Dean Tran of Fitchburg in the general election. The seat covers Fitchburg, Gardner, Leominster, Berlin, Bolton, Clinton Precincts 1 and 2, Lancaster, Lunenburg, Sterling, Westminster and Townsend
After joining the military at 19, Cronin attended West Point and was commissioned as an infantry officer, serving two tours in Afghanistan. He was discharged honorably as a captain in 2018. After his time in Afghanistan, Cronin did legal advocacy work for veterans at a legal services center in Jamaica Plain.
