Susan Duncan Wise passed away after a brief illness on April 27, 2021. She was born on September 16, 1941 to Vernon and Mildred Treadway Duncan in Little Rock, Arkansas. She married Dr. Wesley Samuel Wise on December 31,1966 and they made their home in Brownwood, Texas. He preceded her in death. Susan then made her home in Houston, Texas. Susan was dedicated to her church, Saint Paul Orthodox Church where she served on the Altar Guild and decorated the church for all the holidays. Susan was also Saint Paul’s unofficial greeter, making every stranger her friend. As a devoted student of history, Susan was an active member of the Lady Washington Chapter of the Daughters of the American Revolution and The National Society of The Colonial Dames in the State of Texas. Susan also served as a docent with the Bayou Bend Docent Organization for many years. She was a long-time board member of the Brown County Museum of History.
