The folks at Gari Melchers Home and Studio at Belmont have designed a host of activities and programs for children, as well as adults, both on-site and online. These offerings include even the youngest visitors, from 2 to 5 years old.
âI feel that art galleries are for people of all ages, and children shouldnât be intimidated by them. Exploring art can inspire them to create something, too!â said Michelle CrowâDolby, education and communications manager.
One of the most popular programs for children that was launched nearly 10 years ago is âPreschool Palette,â with sessions that include a story-reading, colorful garden stroll and a related art project.
Children s Book Readings Begin at Bay Street Theater, March 27

Bay Street Theater & Sag Harbor Center for the Arts has announced Story Time, an eight-part program of children s book readings, read out loud by the authors themselves, starts Saturday, March 27, at 10:30 am via Zoom through May 15. Parents are encouraged to purchase the book, so their child can read along with the author.
Following each reading, authors will be available for a question-and-answer session with participants. For kids ages 3 to 8 and their families.
