The grant is part of Scarsdale Historical Society’s mission to discover, preserve and disseminate the rich history of Scarsdale and its neighboring communities in Central Westchester. In 1781, Odell House Rochambeau Headquarters served as the headquarters for the Comte de Rochambeau and his French Forces during the French American Encampment in Greenburgh, NY. It was here that Rochambeau and George Washington made the important decision to march their troops to Yorktown, VA where they jointly defeated the British army and won America’s Independence. Monday Profile: Melanie Hankins Booth doesn’t drink wine she experiences it Starkville native Melanie Hankins Booth teaches classes on the culture and appreciation of wine at area universities, restaurants and civil clubs. Booth, who has traveled the country trying different fine wines, says her favorite thing about her job is meeting people and helping them “experience” wine, rather than just drink it. Courtesy photo At Melanie Hankins Booth’s wine education and tasting class Thursday night, the attendees all raised their glasses and toasted: “Here’s to being here.” Booth, a wine educator and Starkville native, encouraged these wine-drinkers not just to drink their glass of wine but to experience it.
