Do you know what the Public Utilities Commission (PUC) does? During this pandemic, many customers had difficulty keeping up with heat and electric bills. NHPUC worked with residents and our fuel and electric companies to protect the needs of both. A little extra insulation could save you dollars on your energy bill. Governor Sununu recently nominated a commissioner to the PUC, Daniel Goldner, a Texas Instruments executive. But is he a good candidate for bringing NH into the energy future that concerns us all? Are you concerned about the effects of global warming? In NH, carbon pollution in the air increases asthma and health costs. Extreme weather brings floods and drought, threatening our homes, roads and bridges, and our farmers’ crops. We look to our government to help find solutions. But in New Hampshire our representatives on the Science, Technology and Energy Committee are promoting a bill that would prevent discussion of any plan. HB 373 “prohibits the department of environmental services from participating in discussions of any state, regional, or national low carbon fuel standards program… or planning of such programs.”
This bill is promising NH citizens that our government will not plan to reduce carbon. We will continue to put carbon in the atmosphere. And we won’t even talk about it. move on the platform at the pentagon city metro station. a crack on the bridge over the potomac cost up to a 30 minute delay. i waited two trance that were jammed packed with people. it was frustrating. people are down there like literally like sardines packed in. you cannot get on the metro because the metro is already full. to crack caused a train service on that track to be suspended. the second track crack happened across town on the red line. most were resolved by midday but by then the damage was already done. metro says extreme fluctuations in temperature are to blame here metric metal expands in heat and contracts and cold. every road it deals with the spirit we are about the only road in the northeast to dealing with this. writers scramble to grab a cab to get to work at a reasonable hour. downtown people started their work day late after sitting on trains for nearly 30 minutes. we are expected to see fluctuations in temperatures as we did yesterd
