CEO of Malvern Theatre talks about temporary closure of venue due to Covid outbreak

THE CEO of Malvern Theatres has talked of his “great sadness” at temporarily closing the venue just as it was allowed to reopen following lockdown easing. The closure was announced on Boxing Day after two staff were confirmed to have the virus as we previously reported. Nic Lloyd said: “The decision to close the theatre has not been taken lightly - the safety of our staff and customers is paramount. “It is with great sadness that shows and films have to be cancelled when we have worked against all odds to survive such a difficult year.” Malvern Theatres was awarded a total of £971,251 as part of the government’s £1.57bn Culture Recovery Fund to help get through the coronavirus crisis.
