My code: âYou cannot overestimate the unimportance of practically everything.â
This quote is attributed to John C. Maxwell, an internationally recognized leadership expert. This does not mean to have a laissez-faire attitude about everything. Itâs not about being Mad magazineâs Alfred E. Neuman (âWhat, me worry?â). In fact, the operative word is âpractically.â
Of course you should have aspirations, of course you should have dreams and wants, but the vast majority of âdisappointmentsâ in modern life are, well, unimportant. The code is really just another way of saying âDonât sweat the small stuff,â and thereâs plenty of âsmall stuffâ in our daily lives. And Covid-19 has altered so much of our routines that the opportunity for disappointments is more abundant than ever.
