Wayne County Senior Citizen Center Advisory Committee member David Savage says the committee’s recommendation to build on to Bob Boyles Hall at Frontier Community College is based, in part, on a desire to serve multiple age groups, not just the county’s seniors. Though the project is still a considerable way from construction, he says the potential project would expand the hall to about twice its size, with the option of partitioning the new addition from the existing building.
A petition has been started for the Wayne County Highway Department to place a four-way stop at the intersection of Enterprise Road and the Route 161 Extension north of Fairfield. The petition can be found at https://www.change.org/p/wayne-county-highways-superintendent-4-way-stop-at-illinois-cr1900e-cr-2?redirect=false. The move is a response to Friday’s fatal accident, along with several other serious or fatal crashes at that location over the years.
