Area Young Adults Participate In Worldwide Devotional Of Church Of Jesus Christ Of Latter-Day Saints Tuesday, January 12, 2021 - by Phil Smartt
Elder and Sister Gong
Young adults in the greater Chattanooga area participated in a worldwide devotional held by The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints on Sunday. Elder Gerrit W. Gong of the Quorum of the Twelve Apostles and his wife, Susan Gong, were the featured speakers.
Sister Gong taught that our greatest hope is through Jesus Christ. He knows the end from the beginning, she said. But we don’t. We only see in part. However, The Lord promises that all things will work together for our good if we walk uprightly. We can press forward in Christ because we know our Heavenly Father has a plan for us.
“All tests for other church leaders were negative,” Hawkins said.
He did not identify which leaders were tested.
The spokesman previously said Elder Renlund was having mild symptoms and Sister Renlund was asymptomatic.
Elder Renlund, 68, is the second apostle to contract COVID-19. Elder Gerrit W. Gong and Sister Susan Gong tested positive in early October. Both experienced mild symptoms. The Gongs recovered fully and he presided over the Taylorsville Utah Temple groundbreaking ceremony on Oct. 31. Sign up for the newsletter ChurchBeat with Tad Walch
