Two days after hearing oral arguments in a trio of combined cases challenging the Kansas legislature’s Ad Astra 2 map, the Kansas Supreme Court reversed a Wyandotte County District Court judge’s decision that declared the map unconstitutional.
The Kansas Supreme Court heard oral arguments Monday regarding a challenge to the state legislature’s Ad Astra 2 congressional map, which determines the voting boundaries for the four U.S. House of Representative seats delegated to Kansas.
A Wyandotte County District Court judge ruled Monday that the Ad Astra 2 congressional maps are unconstitutional, tossing out the Kansas legislature’s attempt to split Wyandotte County and move Lawrence into a different congressional district.
Susan Frick, a dementia educator, will lead the discussion.
The event is part of the Caregiver Wisdom Series hosted by Kelly Johnson and Deb Kelsey-Davis, active caregivers, ministry leaders and co-founders of Nourish for Caregivers.
