Sacramento City Attorney Susan Alcala-Wood responded to District Attorney Thien Ho's threat to file criminal charges against the city and others over a homeless safe ground in North Sacramento, calling it an abuse of authority and an attempt to distract from the community's efforts to address the homeless crisis.
Sacramento County DA Thien Ho sent a letter Monday to city leaders, threatening legal action if they don’t address the “public nuisance” of homeless encampments. Mayor Darrell Steinberg pushed back, urging the DA to bolster and expand services.
