It is not disputed that in June 2007 Tewkunzi Green fatally stabbed her boyfriend.
Green testified to as much at her trial, but also telling a Peoria jury that she was pinned against a sink, sheltering the couple’s 6-month-old baby in her arms as her boyfriend choked her when she reached for a knife.
Still, the jury convicted Green of first-degree murder.
