happening here across parts of daytona. there should be a beach here. and every once in awhile a massive wave comes all the way through, runs all the way up past the light pole. this is on our surf line. here s flagler beach. i ve watched this, i watch this live shot from surf line for many hours at a time. people should be on here fishing, and there should be another six feet of distance between the top of that pier, and the bottom of the water there, and i think that pier may have a little bit of damage before all is said and done here. here s the onshore flow that we ve been talking about. i m going to make some arrows here so you kind of get the idea. the wind is coming this way. on this side of the storm. the wind is coming this way on this side of the storm. so those arrows will push that water all the way in to jacksonville. and it will continue to do that as we work our way in to the rest of the day. chris your forecast is still going to be ten hours from where we are right now
it happen north of san diego. great beach and filled on july 4th. and the plane loses power and the pilot puts it down on the surf line. he fell back trying to get out of the way and it hit his face. we were so scared. i was holding the back of the head and trying to keep him calm and wait until people get him up. we tried to get all of the blood off. they had to shave this kid s head. and sign of friendship his friends shaved theirs as well. the injured boy, will be okay. and this would have been safer for him to put it down farther out. this is where the kids are wake boarding and bodysurfing.
certainly it is not going to happen. bill: we ll see what the statement is later today. ben collins with us in studio. three tours in afghanistan. thank you, sir. bill: you bet. patti ann. patti ann: a young boy is recovering after a plane make as dramatic crash landing on a crowded beach in california video shows the small plane touching down by the water and flipping over as witnesses rush to help. william la jeunesse is live in los angeles with that story for us. hi, william. reporter: patti ann this happened in carlsbad, north of san diego, great beach, filled with july 4th swimmers and people wake boarding and playing in the sand, a plane pulling a commercial banner loses power. the pilot as you see puts it down at surf line. you can see it on screen right. the volleyball guys didn t stop playing. but a 12-year-old could not get out of the way fast enough and was hit on the head by a wing. saw it and almost fell back trying to get out of the way.
when a seven-foot shark is next to you with its jaw open you are going to be pretty scared. well you know, there are sharks out there every day. this is a white shark puffing ground. this is where the big female white sharks have their pups and pups stay in this area for about two years as they get bigger and bigger and they move offshore. but they re just there to feed on fish and rays. they re not there to bother people. in fact people that frequent this beach, swim with white sharks all the time. the paddle borders out there see them every day there is never a problem. the problem is with fishermen who illegally hooked this short and left him on a line for 40 minutes, basically dragging it into the surf line where the people were. he knew he had a white shark hooked or suspected he had one hook he should have gut the line and let the shark go and this would have never happened. martha: yeah. i ve been hearing a bit about that part of the story.
