Gov. Ned Lamont has nominated a second wave of new judges this year including Judge Joan K. Alexander to the state Supreme Court, Judge Hope Seeley to the Appellate Court and 11 state lawyers to serve as new judges of the Superior Court.
Earlier this year, Lamont nominated 22, new Superior Court Judges, all of whom already have cleared the legislature’s judiciary committee and await confirmation by the House and Senate. He may send over another ten Superior Court nominees in coming days, according judicial and political sources. Keller’s decision to take senior status gives the governor an empty seat on the Supreme Court. And court watchers say there could be another retirement on the Appellate Court.
