Its called the alternative care facility. Its housed here just outside of milwaukee at the state fair park. It has capacity to treat or hold more than 500 patients. And heres the deal, its not your traditional hospital. You cant just walk up if you have covidlike symptoms, meaning you have to be referred by a health care provider. Meanwhile, wisconsin reached record highs for both new infections and deaths yesterday. More than 3,000 new cases were confirmed and 34 people died in 24 hours. Whats happening now is what governor tony ubers did not want to become a reality. But they started planning for the pandemic, the that facilitify, construction started back in april.
