GEORGE TOWN: The Covid-19 pandemic has not dampened the spirits of some 20 youths who got together to make a huge Bintang Raya to be put up at the People’s Housing Project (PPR).
The members from Pertubuhan Anak Muda Pulau Pinang, aged between 17 and 32, spent their leisure time to make the 4.2m-high seven-pointed decorative star, which is fitted with LED lights, for Hari Raya Aidilfitri.
Group chairman Muhamad Nayim Othuman Mydin, 27, said although Hari Raya this year would be scaled down due to the pandemic, the youths decided to put up Bintang Raya at one of the PPR blocks in Jalan Sungai to lend a festive air and also to lift the spirits of the residents during these trying times.
