just spreading out throughout the complex. all of these companies, schools practice these active shooter protocols, and i think that would be something that we need to inject into these protocols moving forward. jedediah: you mentioned that the shooter was taken into custody. can you just tell us about in the coming days and weeks what will be going on behind closed doors in terms of the fbi investigating this as a hate crime and in terms of confronting that shooter with some serious questions to try to figure out not only the motivation, but what, were there any other agendas and all the details surrounding this important what way case? this important case? sure. normally the el paso police department, they would be the lead investigative entity. the fbi would act as a support mechanism. and, two, this does, in fact, shift over to a hate crime. i ve investigated i was a detective in the nypd, a lieutenant. a quadruple homicide took massive resources. so when we talk about 20 p
[inaudible] how does the department deal with such difficult events and such [inaudible] well, i have good friends standing behind me who have been through this before, and i have good support mechanism through the county, and that s where it s very important. commissioner dave weaver who used to be my boss came and was there, support. so it s great to have a support mechanism to help us, because this is not something that you can go to school to learn how to do. so i ve been asking them all questions about am i doing the right thing. the key here is taking care of zack s family and taking care of the family of the officers and the officers who survived this and make sure that we can get through it on the other side and

when you re we learned how to plan and execute uninsurgency. that is to you know, everything from the military training to train the trainers. you train five of the best on how to do something and they go and train their people how to do something, right? so you are a force multiplier in that aspect. from the pointy end of the sphere back to the logistic, creating an underground. underground is the support mechanism, the people that hide the fighters, people get them food and move material and aren t on a watch list, don t have a criminal history. these are networked and cellular. if we clamp down on one, it should be compartmentalized so it doesn t tip off the nature or the makeup of another cell. again, i don t want to generalize about this region. i think that s dangerous. .
