Supermac’s owner Pat McDonagh believes the GAA is “losing touch with its grassroots” after it failed to see the funny side of an April Fool’s Day post that said Croke Park was being renamed after the fast-food chain.
The GAA has defended its decision to report Supermac’s to Meta over an April Fool’s post, saying “the use of any registered trademark is not permitted, in jest or otherwise”.
Supermac’s has had its social media pages suspended after the GAA made a trademark complaint about an April Fool’s Day joke posted on the fast-food company’s Instagram and Facebook platforms.
