Jay White May Really Be Done With NJPW, WWE Interested

It was recently reported by Super J-Cast there is doubt that White will extend his contract with NJPW and WWE is believed to make a “strong play” for him.
Several sources have indicated there is some doubt whether Jay White will extend his NJPW contract, rumoured to be up at the end of the month. WWE are believed to be making a strong play for him and it’s 50/50 whether he stays or goes.

White s current contract is reportedly set to expire this month and he has yet to make a decision regarding his future. Some recent booking decisions also suggest that the former IWGP Heavyweight Champion will leave the Japanese promotion in the coming weeks.

New Year s Dash events respectively, fueling further speculation that his tenure in the company is coming to an end. It s common for performers to put over talent before they leave a wrestling promotion.

NJPW has announced the attendance cap for Wrestle Kingdom 15, set to take place on January 4th, 2021. The Japanese Government has put a cap to 5,000 people for the show due to COVID-19. As reported by WON, the recent outbreak in the country played a factor in this decision. Both shows are set to take place on January 4th and 5th with the same attendance cap. );
NJPW has put a halt to ticket sales, as the sales have currently reached over 5,000 for both nights. The Observer states that NJPW will not do anything to defy the Japanese government and will respectfully follow their guidelines. The company had previously hoped to have a 40% capacity of around 16,000-20,000 fans before the sudden COVID surge in Japan. As of December 23rd, the country was hit with an all-time high of 888 cases.
