BRIDGEPORT A local man was charged Wednesday with sexually assaulting a 9-year-old girl in his home.
Orlando Morales, 35, of Alba Avenue, was charged with fourth-degree sexual assault and risk of injury to a child.
During Morales’ arraignment hearing Wednesday afternoon, Superior Court Judge Kevin Doyle ordered Morales held in lieu of $50,000 bond and continued the case to April 8.
The judge also ordered Morales to have no further contact with the child.
According to police, on July 7, 2020, the 9-year-old girl disclosed that she had been sexually assaulted by Morales.
During a forensic interview, police said the girl said she and her family had been visiting with Morales when she went to an upstairs bedroom to watch a movie on his television.
