Water test samples go missing May 26, 2021 on News
ELLSWORTH The Ellsworth Water Department sent out a notice to residents and businesses on May 18 that it did not meet drinking water quality standards in March after coliform samples were lost and could not be sent for lab testing. The missing samples were from the period from March 1 to March 31, but this doesn’t mean that water quality suffered during that time.
“All coliform samples taken prior to March 2021 were negative for coliform bacteria,” Water Superintendent Reggie Winslow said. “The following two months samples [for] April and May were also negative for coliform bacteria.”
