Four arrested in murder case

The police have arrested four people in connection with a murder reported on May 23 in Hassan. A team of officers, investigating the murder, arrested the accused on Thursday evening, said Superintendent of Police R. Srinivasa Gowda in a press release here on Friday.
The arrested are Koki alias Rohit (28), Vasu (27), Mani (20) and Jayanth (20). Two more accused, Sharath (26) and Sudeep K.Y. (20), are absconding.
The police said that they murdered Bharath H.P. on 80 Foot Road in Santhepet in Pension Mohalla Police limits. The arrested are said to have admitted to committing the crime.

AAA Police Commissioner N. Shashi Kumar has suspended head constable Srilata, who was among the 130 persons arrested by the Hassan police following a raid on a private homestay near K. Hoskote in Alur taluk on April 10 night. A rave party was in progress at the homestay.
Mr. Kumar told reporters that Ms. Srilata worked in the Economic and Narcotics Crime Police Station in Mangaluru. She has been accused of misusing her position to claim before the Hassan police that she was an ASI attached to Mangaluru’s Central Crime Branch. The Hassan police arrested and released her following bail given at the police station.

The lack of safety measures and the violation of guidelines meant to be adhered to are said to have caused the blast at an explosive storage magazine near Chakenahalli in Holenarsipur taluk, leaving one dead and two seriously injured, on Sunday afternoon.
Two bikes parked close to the magazine, in violation of the guidelines, were burnt and the truck from Tamil Nadu, which brought the explosives, also suffered damage in the incident. Sampath, 27, a native of Bettadahalli in Channarayapatna taluk, died on the spot while Ravi Kumar and Nataraj are undergoing treatment.
