Assistant Superintendent of Police Farasiko Matawalu presented his i-tatau to the Acting Commissioner of Police Rusiate Tudravu this week at the Police Headquarters in Laucala.
According to the Fiji Police Force, he departs for a year of tour of duty under the United Nations Interim Security in Abyei, Sudan early next month.
Originally from Makolei, Solevu in Bua, ASP Matawalu presently holds the post of Manager Tactical Operation at the Police Special Response Unit (PSRU) and his selection makes him the second Fijian officer to be deployed for mission duties under the United Nations Interim Security Force for Abyei (UNISFA).
