HANOVER TWP. â Nearly 200 people who didnât expect to get a COVID-19 vaccine on Monday got one at Hanover Area High School â and it was due to yet another scheduling snafu with a series of clinics hosted at the school.
The state Department of Health failed to notify patients about available appointments, leaving about 200 openings as of early Monday morning, according to district Superintendent Nathan Barrett.
Barrett sent messages out to district parents and notified the media about the sudden, unannounced openings for the first dose of the Pfizer vaccine administered by Walmart.
People immediately flocked to the walk-in appointments.
