The budget includes a total increase in expenditure of $38 million, more than half of which will go towards raises for teachers and other staff members. Money will also go towards repairs for some school district facilities, as well as expanding the RPS 200 program.
The Richmond School Board is set to approve a $532.6 million budget for fiscal year 2025 at its Tuesday evening meeting, then ship it to the mayor’s office for consideration.
The final bill from law firm Sands Anderson for its investigation into the circumstances and security issues surrounding a June 2023 graduation day shooting totaled $88,646.
