Lee’s Summit R-7 School District Board (LSR-7) in Missouri has decided that a teacher who quoted a racial slur during a disciplinary process uttered by a student will keep his job. The School District’s superintendent had recommended that the teacher, who has been on the job for almost 30 years, be fired.
The Lee’s Summit School Board voted 5-2 in favor of not firing one of its teachers, Joe Oswald, for twice quoting a racial slur uttered by a student as part of the student’s school disciplinary hearing, according to a report by KMBC-TV.
