The Bethel School Board has narrowed its search for a new superintendent down to three finalists: a principal in the Bethel School District, an administrator in Salem-Keizer School District and a professional development developer at a school district in New Mexico.
The board started the superintendent search process last fall after current Superintendent Chris Parra announced she will retire at the end of this school year after 11 years with the district.
The board started with 21 applications for the open position as district leader, according to an announcement from spokesperson Pat McGillivray.
The finalists are: Bernadette Hall-Cuarón, teacher leader facilitator at Van Buren Middle School in Albuquerque, New Mexico; Dan Hedberg, principal at Willamette High School in the Bethel School District; and Kraig Sproles, assistant superintendent of Salem-Keizer Public Schools.
