Mary Duncan: No traces found of missing teenager at Vale of Leven Hospital

Police have now confirmed no trace of Mary was found in their investigation. Detective Superintendent Calum Young from West Dunbartonshire CID said:  “I can confirm that planned ground searches have now concluded, no further trace or information about Mary’s whereabouts has been found and the Duncan family have been fully updated.  “I would like to take this opportunity to thank all of the staff and management at the Vale of Leven Hospital for their support during search activity within the hospital, and also thank the public and media for helping to ensure that any disruption was kept to a minimum.

Police said the ground searches concluded on Friday December 4 without a positive result. Mary Duncan disappearance: Police find no trace of Bonhill teenager

West Dunbartonshire search for Bonhill woman missing for 44 years concluded DETECTIVES in West Dunbartonshire investigating the disappearance of Mary Duncan say they have finished searching three sites in the area - and that no further trace of her whereabouts has been found. Mary disappeared aged 17 from her home in Bonhill in 1976, and there has never been a trace of her since, leaving her family distraught with the mystery of what happened. Searches at two sites at the Vale of Leven Hospital began on Monday, August 17, and a further search at a site in a residential area of Helensburgh began on Monday, September 7.
