A man has died in St. Louis County after a sheriff s deputy used deadly force while tracking him after an alleged carjacking Friday evening.
The St. Louis County Sheriff s Office says a deputy was tracking a male suspect in a wooded area northeast of the Saginaw Union Station and used deadly force while utilizing a canine to track the subject.
It s not clear at this stage what the deadly force comprised, and whether it involved the K-9 officer, with more details expected to be released at a later date by the Minnesota Bureau of Criminal Apprehension, which is investigating.

UPDATE: The Minnesota BCA says a medical examiner determined the suspect died from a self-inflicted gunshot wound not shots from deputies.
A suspect died after a carjacking Friday evening in St. Louis County, Minnesota.
According to the sheriff s office, at about 5 p.m. Friday, authorities responded to a report of a carjacking at the Super One Store in Pike Lake. Deputies learned that an armed male had carjacked a vehicle with a woman and her 16-year-old son.
The incident ended in the parking lot of the Saginaw Union Station where the suspect ran off and the victims were able to call for help.
