Show Transcript well, happy thursday everyone as we move into the afternoon hours. Yeah, you re looking out your window saying, hey, we ve got a lot of cloud still hanging around out there and I think that would be the case over the next hour or two. But as we go into the mid afternoon hours, expect more in the way of clearing skies and more sunshine, sneaking on through temperatures on the cool side. So far today. We ve got 50 still in the mountains and temperatures only in the low sixties across the state in northeast Georgia. And you can kind of see why we take a look at live Super Doppler four HD couple of spotty sprinkles in the upper levels of the atmosphere. But the air is just too dry today for any of this to hit the ground. But notice we ve got clouds stretching from Asheville back down towards the I 85 corridor

Show Transcript well, happy thursday everyone and we re waking up to mostly cloudy skies out there is we have a front making its way onto the area this morning, temperatures mild ahead of that front. We ve got numbers in the mid fifties in the mountains, Upper fifties near 60 across the upstate in northeast Georgia. Now to take a look at live Super Doppler for HD, you can see a lot of clouds out there and a couple of clips of green, but most of the rain has come to an end. A front moving through the area now will eventually take these clouds in any rain chances and continue to shove them down towards the south and east into our north and west. We ve got some cool air and that s really gonna be the theme over the next several days. So for this afternoon look for again decreasing clouds, so we ll have more clouds this morning

Show Transcript so the storm system set to impact us later today is developing back towards the West. We are going to see the potential of a quick little burst of some light rain showers or even some snow showers in the mountains. Wouldn t be surprised for a few sleet pellets or even a few snowflakes to mix it in the upstate, but shouldn t be a big deal is this First little arm of moisture moves our way later today. This really ramps up tonight, beginning as early as 2 a.m. and then ramps up to about 5 a.m. That looks to be the peak of the storm for the mountains. And then it s gonna change to rain, even in the mountains where we re going to see some problems. There s a winter storm warning for Henderson County and then the higher elevations of Polk and Rutherford counties up toward the Hickory Nut

Show Transcript way have a pretty strong cold front that s coming through the area right now. It s gonna bring us some heavy rain at times across the mountains and the upstate, with a chance for a quick, wintry mix, mainly along north of I 85. This morning, I think most of us are going to see just rain. But don t be surprised if you don t hear a couple pellets or maybe a little freezing rain mixing in again early until our temperatures warm up a little bit. All of this rain will be tapering off by tonight in the mountains. We re seeing a wintry mix already this morning, basically north of I 40 more snow than anything, and just south of that line is seeing some sleet and freezing rain mixing in with rain. S
