SHAH ALAM: Kumpulan Perangsang Selangor Bhd (KPS) announced a commendable set of financial results for the fourth quarter and full-year ended Dec 31, 2021 (FY2021).
KUALA LUMPUR (Dec 18): There are jobs in the pipeline for companies that are involved in the water treatment-related business.
Pengurusan Air Selangor Sdn Bhd (Air Selangor) will call for tenders for the first phase of the Rasau water treatment plant valued at about RM4 billion next year, according to its CEO Suhaimi Kamaralzaman.
Among the public-listed companies with expertise in water treatment plants are Salcon Bhd, Taliworks Corp Bhd, and Selangor State government-controlled Kumpulan Perangsang Selangor Bhd (KPS).
The new water treatment capacity is to address the current low reserve margin. The average margin is 11%, Suhaimi revealed, but there are areas with reserve margin below average.
SURUHANJAYA Perkhidmatan Air Negara (SPAN) is understood to have approved Air Selangor Sdn Bhd’s business plan, which entails the state-controlled entity undertaking a capital expenditure of RM35.4 billion over the next 30 years.
It is understood that the business plan, which was submitted to SPAN in December last year, had to be revised recently in October to account for the Covid-19 pandemic, and was approved on Nov 13.
Details of the revision, however, are not known. Some aspects of the capex are understood to have commenced in January this year, prior to SPAN’s approval. SPAN is the regulatory body for the water services industry.
