Kuala Lumpur: Jeli, Kuala Krai and Gua Musang in Kelantan have been placed under the Movement Control Order (MCO) for a week beginning today (Thursday), which effectively puts all districts in the State under the order until April 29.
The MCO was previously implemented in the districts of Kota Baru, Pasir Mas, Pasir Puteh, Bachok, Machang, Tumpat and Tanah Merah from April 16 to 29.

(pic) said the MCO in the three districts was implemented following a sharp rise in Covid-19 cases.

“The MOH (Ministry of Health) reported that there was an 83.9 per cent increase in the number of cases within 14 days, namely from 18 cases to 112 cases, and these three districts have turned into red zones,” he said in a statement, Wednesday.
PUTRAJAYA: A Covid-19 outbreak at an education centre in Hulu Langat, Selangor has resulted in the discovery of 50 positive cases under the cluster.
Health director-general Tan Sri Dr Noor Hisham Abdullah said the cluster involves students of an educational centre located at Jalan Langat Ceria 4, Taman Langat Ceria in Hulu Langat.
“The cluster’s index case was tested for Covid-19 after developing symptoms, and was declared positive on April 18, he said.
“Since then, 144 individuals have been screened, and 50 confirmed cases have been found under this cluster, ” added Dr Noor Hisham in his daily Covid-19 updates.
The cluster is among 11 new ones identified by the Health Ministry on Wednesday (April 21).

KUALA LUMPUR: New Covid-19 infections in Malaysia breached the 2,000 mark for a seventh straight day when 2,340 cases were reported in the last 24 hours, bringing the cumulative total to 381,813, said Health director-general Tan Sri Dr Noor Hisham Abdullah.
In a posting on his official Twitter account, Dr Noor said Selangor recorded the most daily cases at 526, followed by Sarawak (429), Kelantan (370), Kuala Lumpur (291) and Sabah (172).
A total of 170 new cases were recorded in Johor, followed by Penang (111), Pahang (81), Melaka (63), Kedah (55), Perak (38), Negeri Sembilan (24), Putrajaya (six), Labuan (two), and Terengganu and Perlis with one each.
eanwhile, in a statement today, Dr Noor Hisham said 12 of the new cases were imported while 2,328 were local transmissions.
KUCHING: Sarawak reported 429 new Covid-19 cases on Wednesday (April 21), dropping below the 500 mark for the first time in seven days.
In a statement, the state disaster management committee said Meradong district recorded the highest number with 82 new cases, including 65 from the new Sungai Lemayong cluster.
Other districts reporting new cases are Sibu with 62, Bintulu (58), Kuching (54), Bukit Mabong (36), Miri (23), Kapit (21), Song (17), Mukah and Sarikei (11 each), Julau (seven), Samarahan (six), Kanowit, Subis, Selangau and Limbang (five each), Marudi, Matu and Pakan (four each) and Sri Aman (two).
In addition, Pusa, Serian, Dalat, Saratok, Beluru, Belaga and Bau reported one case each, bringing the state s cumulative tally to 25,558 cases.
