A weather warning for snow and ice has been issued for most of the country today – and even Cornwall could potentially see a dusting. The Met Office has put a yellow warning in place from 4pm today (Friday), which runs until 10.30am on Saturday. This covers the whole of Cornwall, which could see sleet and potentially even snow on higher ground. The Met Office has said: Snow and ice may cause travel disruption tonight and early Saturday. Expect probably some icy patches on some untreated roads, pavements and cycle paths, increasing the likelihood of accidents and injuries. Some roads and railways [are] likely to be affected by snowfall, with longer journey times by car as well as bus and train services.
