Many Persons Injured As Gas Explosion Rocks Community In Delta State

A powerful explosion has reportedly occurred at a gas plant at Efurrun, Uvwie Local Government Council Area of Delta State, South-South Nigeria. Although the cause of the explosion was yet to be ascertained, SaharaReporters gathered that incident caused pandemonium among nearby residents. The gas station identified as NELMIC Gas Plant which is located opposite the Effurun Post Office was said to have gone aflame 10:30pm on Monday night.

Jonah Jang, a former Plateau State governor has been exonerated of the N6.3 billion in corruption charges that the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission had brought against him. The former governor was exonerated by the Plateau State High Court, Jos Judicial Division, presided over by Justice Christy Dabup on Friday.   The anti-graft agency had accused Jang of criminal breach of trust and misappropriation of Plateau State funds to the tune of N6.3 billion.

Anti-graft Agency, EFCC To Appeal Court Ruling That Freed Ex-Plateau Governor, Jonah Jang In N6 3billion Fraud

The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission has filed an appeal against a Plateau High Court decision that discharged and acquitted Senator Jonah Jang and Yusuf Pam of corruption charges totaling N6.3billion. This was disclosed by the agency's spokesman, Wilson Uwujaren, on Friday. He said, “The Commission has initiated processes for an Appeal immediately” in a statement seen on the anti-graft body’s official Twitter page. SaharaReporters earlier reported that Jang had been exonerated of the N6.3 billion in corruption charges that the EFCC brought against him.
