The Queen had a “lucky escape” after she engaged intruder Michael Fagan with a conversation to avoid escalating the “terrifying experience” in 1982. Her Majesty was said to have remained “composed” despite calls from her alarm button being ignored. The concerning intrusion was only discovered after a maid attended to the Queen and personally called for security to intervene.
