Ägyptens Parlament hat ein Gesetz verabschiedet, das die Strafe für sexuelle Belästigung deutlich verschärft. Wie ägyptische Medien am Sonntag berichteten, drohen für eine solche Straftat künftig mindestens fünf Jahre Haft. Bislang wurde sexuelle Belästigung in Ägypten mit mindestens anderthalb Jahren Gefängnis und einer Geldbuße bestraft.
