Mel Brooks, the prolific American actor, producer, and lyricist, will receive an honorary Oscar for lifetime achievement. He won for best original screenplay for "The Producers" more than half a century ago. Brooks is already one of the few entertainers to win an Oscar, Emmy, Tony, and Grammy in his career spanning eight decades.
