No one injured in Sun Prairie shooting; man taken into custody on attempted homicide allegation

SUN PRAIRIE, Wis. A man is facing one count of attempted homicide after he allegedly tried shooting someone following an argument in Sun Prairie.
Police responded to the Element Apartments at 200 Park Circle shortly before 7:30 a.m. Thursday for a report of a possible shooting. When they arrived, officers found the victim at the scene and the suspect in a nearby area.
The suspect, 31-year-old Nicholas R. Thompson, allegedly fired a single shot at the victim, but missed. Police said they believe the incident was targeted and prompted by an argument between Thompson and the victim.
