They were displaced and others were given up by the owners. People stepped up to help out. And the dogs were made available. Reporter thousands packed the shelter as people wait for flood waters to recede. The chaos has created a crisis across the state. Abandoned, lost and surrendered pets are overcrowding the shelters. Because of the flooding that is going on. The local shelters in the area this week 18 dogs and puppies from a louisiana shelter arrived at the tampa bay humane shot. We have sky fox arriving here on scene so we have a better look at the lane blockage in the area. Most of our concerns are really going to be in the northbound direction and then the westbound direction where we have full shutdown, eastbound appears as though we have minor lane blockage to the turn lanes. Drivers are diverted off. Heading northbound on be pushed on state road 52 where drivers are able to make a uturn and get back onto 19 basically on the other side of the intersection. You can plan some extra time and do that detour or if you want, avoid the area completely. Take little road in the northbound direction. U. The Hurricane Hunters are expected to fly into it. The its just east of the caribbean at this point. And most of the computer models take it due west over the next couple days. Its south of cuba. But an upperlevel dip in the jet stream or trough is expected to pick this up and move it almost due north. A very odd look at how the computer models are going. And almost all of them take it toward the bahamas. We will have to wait and see, its just how far west this goes before it moves farther to the north. So we will keep a close eye on it for you.
