After a doozy of a monday weather wise, well see a colder and quieter weather pattern with a couple of small snow chances. Our winds remain a bit strong this morning which is still causing some patchy blowing snow in some of our easternmost communities along with subzero windchills across the board. Other than that, today should be hazardfree as winds diminish just a touch but remain steady. We should also see a bit more sun too with highs near 20 degrees. Lows tonight will drop into the Single Digits as clluds inccease late and could bring in a few flurries if not quick snow dusting for some on wednesday. Well have another slight chance of flurries thursday night as highs continue to cling to the 20 degree mark moving into the weekend before getting their next big bump up to the 30s on sunday. After learning of the accident, the mohegan sun casino issued a directive, contacted Bus Operators and buses that were heading from the new york city area to the casino. The directive was this stop where you are and turn around. Start heading back to the new york city area until the weather clears up. We do not know for certain if the weather was a role in this accident. However, troopers were quite frank with us, telling us they responded to 80 accidented in this part of connecticut right around 12 25 this afternoon when the bus lost control. There. This is what the radar looks like right now. Bright whites and steadier snows west of philly, a few snows starting to get into mercer county, a couple of snow showers over Southern Ocean county. That whole band of snowfall right there and rain is starting to lift to the north and thats what we are counting on to produce our snowfall during the overnight. To be honest with you, hasnt looked very impressive through the afternoon hours in terms of the snowfall it can produce. If we look at our shortrange futurecast this is what it looks like, the snow showers are going to be lifting through Central New Jersey during the evening hours, so high 78, garden state parkway, we can see slippery spots and some snowy coatings across the area. Then during the overnight the area of snow is going to expand into the north and then its going to peek and start to break up and retreat toward the morning hours.
